Trusted Legal Experience Across Generations

I have over 45 years of experience as a trial lawyer, beginning my law practice in 1980 in Coffee County, Tennessee, where I have maintained offices in both Manchester and Tullahoma for over 45 years. I served as Juvenile Court Judge for Coffee County, Tennessee, from 1990 to 1998.

My areas of practice have been primarily focused on domestic relations, criminal law, juvenile court matters and general civil litigation involving negligence actions resulting in personal injury, property damage, and other civil disputes, including breach of contract, breach of warranty claims, estate fraud, and claims against contractors and builders. These areas of law practice have included extensive work in both contested and uncontested matters of divorce and separation, child custody disputes, child support issues, spousal support, domestic violence issues, orders of protection, adoption, termination of parental rights, grandparent rights, and all legal matters concerning juvenile court issues.

As a former judge and practicing lawyer, I have both legal and practical knowledge of cases relating to actions by the Tennessee Department of Children's Services in the removal of children from parents or custodians, allegations against parents or custodians of dependency and neglect, juvenile delinquency, or emergency child custody matters. I have over 45 years of experience in the defense of those charged with felony or misdemeanor offenses ranging from first-degree murder to the most trivial of criminal charges, litigated in venues from the General Sessions courts to the Tennessee appellate courts, including the Tennessee Supreme Court.
